Default What's Your Trading Experience ?

Bonjour !

Just this little post in order to know better all the people of this forum !
So simply, what's your trading experience ?
How do you trade, i mean, do you trade the news, do you rely on signals, methods, EA ??
And most of all what's your trading "career" ??

See You !

Samuel.

OK it's my turn!

When I just left university and started job-hunting, I started to fancy about getting rich with investment. I started off reading Warren Buffett, thinking value investment is the only way to go. Then I find that it's too slow and requires too much capital.

Then I came across forex (I forgot how) and the hyped EA Forex Autopilot. I joined the FAP and FAP Turbo Forum which is also run by Alan. I backtested lots of EAs since then, and finally gave up, and realised that the only way to make profit is to learn to trade properly, by yourself!

Then I studied a lot of trading systems, whether free or commercial, at the same time trying to develop my own. I finally came up with my own scalping system, which in essence is entering at retracement after a big move, and target for a very small profit. It's doing well for me for some time. However, I started to feel that trading a small time frame demands me too much energy, so I switched to larger timeframes with H4. This is what I am trading today.

I have read a lot of material on forex and trading in general, so far only a few of them really have influenced on me. I think I can list three here:

1. Bird Watching in Lion Country by Dirk du Toit
2. Fetor's Video Forex Course by Fetor
3. Forex Confidant by Thomas Strigano

All of them are availble online. I recommend them for people who want to improve their trading.

In any case, please visit my blog in my signature, and leave a comment!

I am a Forex baby. I jumped in only about 6 months ago with FAPturbo. While EAs are nice, you can't depend on them for longterm gains; that is not to say I won't use them (I am live with one right now on the eur-chf) because profit is profit!

I have 2 potential goals - either quit my 9-5 job and trade fulltime or work and trade at the same time and retire early. To get there I am reading all I can, this forum is a major part of that, to develop trading strategies.

I first learned about Forex through Forex Auto Pilot. I was looking for a way to invest my savings passively other than a savings account. That was eleven months ago.

I Have extensive training in advanced mathematics and Physical science but I dropped out of college before I finished my degree. Forex is loaded with math and I was ,of course, hooked. I project I will be trading full time within the next six months.

To infinity and beyond!

hello i would initiate answering the queries with the time duration i have been in trading........... I am doing trading from past one year.till date i am doing great my account of trading has raised some what. Most of the trades are successful but when the trade does not turn in my favor I suffer loss in bulk. But thanks to my broker i am still going very strong in forex.

I trust on the signals, methods, and EA but only on those which is sent to me by my broker avafx. My experience with forex trading is mixed. Not that great not that worst its just in between.

I did a random internet search only to discover what they called "a 4 trillion dollar a day beast." I found out about forex through some signal service that I think was a scam. I never went with the signal service and instead bought fap turbo. It seemed to work great on FX Pro until I found out they were scammers. So I switched to tadawul- the only pair I trade live now is eur/chf. Aside from this, I have been demoing various systems- all not successful, well maybe a few might marginally profit but not enough to make a living on. To this day, I am thankful that I have not lost any money in the forex market- only gained it, but not enough to live on. I am currently demoing a manual system, the only one to date which shows promise- but not that much promise. Not 50% a month.

I started my trading journey a long time ago...I can recall reading how the PC will never replace a real trader.

Through many ups and downs I have never lost the fascination with markets and the math behind them. Yes I am a technical trader.

I never trade the news. Only because the technical trader is something I am good at and comfortable with.

My knowledge of EA's is not nearly as vast as most on this forum appears to be, hence the reason I am here...surround oneself with people who are smarter then you are and you will learn.

I truly enjoy teaching people how to trade for themselves and I also appreciate anyplace where the free exchange of knowledge is shared

J

As you might well know, trading of stocks is one of the best businesses you could get into. The word trade basically means to buy or to sell, and in the stock markets it means buying and selling company shares. With stock trading, in order to make a profit what you would aim for is to buy shares when they are on a low price and resell when they are high. That's the basic idea.If you are not too familiar with stock trading, the only picture you have in mind about the business is what you may have seen in movies and on television - rows of operators sitting in front of monitors answering phone call after phone call and looking stressed out. Read on to find out why it seems this way.
