Default Bytes needed for wireless laptop

I am looking at plans for a connect card for my wireles laptop but I do not quite understand how they work.

The lowest plan is 10 MB and the highest is 5GB. Is that how many bytes I can use per page or is that total amount per month I can use?

I will be running three platforms while trading and I do not have plans to use it for anyhting else. Do I need the 5GB or would the 10 MB work?

That is the total monthly data transfer. Start with the 5GB plan - then after a full month, review your actual usage and adjust your plan as appropriate. Also, make sure they will let you change your plan without any hassle.

That is quite an excellent idea! I was thinking of going with the same setup - get one of those "netbooks" and trade forex in the park!

I am ordering an HP netbook tomorrow for someone in my office. Too small for me though as I need the CPU and memory for all the stuff I run at the same time (IT manager, DBA, programmer all rolled into me!)

Which model are you ordering? And has anyone here had experience with Asus netbooks? Or more specifically with their "Eee PC"? I'm thinking of getting one. According to the Asus website its battery life is up-to 6 hours!

This one with a 10.1 inch screen and the 16 Gig solid-state drive. It will arrive in about 10 days.

Very nice! Love the solid state drive idea - that should conserve power and offer great performance.

I have an acer aspire. Great little notebook but the battery life ius only two hours. Its faster than my desktop.

I heard of a portable hot spot available from verizon

But its cellular in speed so I imagine it's pretty slow. Maybe MIFI 2.0?

The netbook was a hit with the VP I ordered it for. She likes it so much she bought it outright; she has shown it to several people in the office and a few others are going to buy them too.

An unexpected plus for the one I linked above is that the keys are full size - not to mention it is incredibly light. No feedback about battery life so far though.

Yes the solid state drives are awesome!! Do any of you have Clearwire where you live? They are pretty good for going just about anywhere with your laptop.
